Geri Bates, Painter
Like most female artists she knows, is married and raised a family that became her first priority. However, she returned to her love of painting in the early 80’s. She paints in a realistic style and started by painting subjects of landscapes, seascapes and then wildlife. Recently she’s discovered pastels and loves working with them. Like oils, she appreciates the rich and sometime soft colors, as well as, the textures they can give a subject. It is her goal to capture light, mood and atmosphere in her paintings, be it oil or pastels.
