I became interested in sculpting children by creating dolls from polymer clay. I yearned to learn more. Living in an isolated community known as Sanborn Park, high on the south slope of the Uncompahgre Plateau, near the towns of Norwood and Telluride, didn’t give me much of an opportunity to learn about sculpting. I finally met someone who led me to the Loveland Academy of Fine Art, in Loveland, Colorado. I studied under such accomplished sculptors of children as Jo Saylors and Rosalind Cook unleashing a new creativity within me. A place so fulfilling I never wanted to leave. It was magic and exciting!

I was invited and showed my sculptures at the renowned Sculpture Invitational in Loveland, Colorado. I have sculpted several commission pieces, one of which was a Lineman, chosen by the Rocky Mountain Lineman’s Rodeo Association as their traveling memorial trophy. An honor I am very proud of.

Although my main interests are sculpting and drawing children, I have always loved people and faces. I specialize in cowboys, old people, Indians, and dogs.
