
Daphna Russell sculpts in her studio on the Western Slope of Colorado where she also teaches sculpture. She begins by working in water-based clay and then may cast a few finished pieces in bronze. She also paints, designs, and writes on the arts.
Daphna received her B.A. in art history and sculpture from Colorado College after three years at the College of William and Mary. She has a teaching certificate from North Texas State University, and achieved an M.A. in Art History and Sculpture at Texas Woman's University. She has also studied at the Sarasota Arts Center in Sarasota, Florida, and at Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Certaldo, Italy.
She has been the Curator of Education at the John and Mabel Ringling Museum of Art, Curator of Educational Services at the Wichita Art Museum, Curator of Community Services at the Dayton Art Museum, and a Consultant in the arts to various school systems as well as the E. B. Crocker Gallery in Sacramento, California.
Daphna has exhibited at the Ann Darling Studio in Sarasota, Florida; Es Posible in Scotsdale, Arizona; the Creamery Arts Center in Hotchkiss, Colorado; the Apple Shed Gallery in Cedaredge, Colorado; the Old Pueblo Art Gallery in Tucson, Arizona; the Coldwater Gallery in Ridgway, Colorado; and the Schiesser Gallery in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She has also exhibted in Grand Junction, Colorado; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Montrose, Colorado; Carbondale, Colorado; and at the Loveland (Colorado) Sculpture Invitational.
